Welcome to the Washington state affiliate of AMATYC, the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges. WAMATYC is a nonprofit educational association established in 1986 to unite mathematics faculty and support mathematics education at community and technical colleges throughout Washington state.

MAY 2019

51st annual Washington College Mathematics Conference. Registration is now open for the 2019 Washington College Mathematics Conference, May 2–4 at Ocean Shores, hosted by Centralia College and Bates Technical College. Details at WaMath.org.

FALL 2018

Congratulations to our new WAMATYC Officers! Dan Taylor, President of WAMATYC, Centralia College; Jeff Eldridge, Webmaster, Edmonds CC; and Steve Bogart, President-Elect, Shoreline CC. They join Chris Milner, Financial Officer, Clark College, to round out a fantastic leadership team with new perspectives and fresh ideas. Exciting changes! Our many MANY thanks to Peter Wildman who completes 6 years on the board, Paul Casillas who moves to Past President position after his second stint (three terms) as President, and Sally Keely who leaves Wemaster after a total of 14 years on the board. Thanks to all for their dedication and service.

  • WAMATYC is hosting Division Chairs meeting at 5:30 Thursday in ballroom "B" with pizza afterwards in a suite at the Red Lion (room TBA).
  • WAMATYC Invited Session in Mathematics is proud to have Olga Shatunova, Univ of Washington, present "The Algebra of Technology" 11:00-11:50 Friday morning.
  • Student Math League winners will be announced at lunch Friday.
  • WAMATYC Membership/Business meeting will be held 3:30-4:30 Friday afternoon in ballroom "G". All members encouraged to attend. [INFO]
  • WAMATYC Awards will be presented at dinner Friday evening.
